Days gone by

What have I been up to lately? Aside from obviously not blogging I have been trying to tackle all my assorted projects and accidentally starting new ones. My painting is nearing completion which is good since I have another 24x36 to start. I finished my second set of coasters after finally finding some cork to put on the backs. I most recently began re-apholstering my dining chairs. You see, my house has red and weird tan/yellowish walls which totally clash with the blue seats of the chairs, and as I'm not allowed to re-decorate in any way I only had the one option. I have a feeling this will take long to complete, I have one done but ran out of staples and I'm not very good at getting to the store. I want to do something to the backs too, since the cutout shapes clash with the zebra print I chose, without affecting the original chair, so it can always go back to the original.

Oh, I also lit my furnace all on my own. Not really a project but I'd like to think my dad is proud.

Covered in paint=successful day

Been a pretty productive weekend. Yesterday after walking about town and the park I painted while Meli tried to sleep off her hangover and we waited for Dyl to get off work. They had agreed to be my models for this week's fashion/beauty assignment. I had to choose a type of advertisement and shoot it in my style, went with editorial, "selling" jeans. I just now finished editing it pretty happy with it. Good start to the semester if I do say so myself. Got up this morning at nine and started working on my painting again..for eight hours..straight. My back is killing me but I only managed to get paint on the wall twice.

You got a saddle for that pony?

Meli and I went to Falls Park today on an assignment fueled photography adventure and she made a new friend.

Eats

Finally went to the grocery store today, it was getting to be pretty slim pickins. I decided to make an egg dish despite the fact that nine and a half times out of ten eating eggs makes me nauseous. Worth a shot. After making sure my pyrex bowl could go into the oven I put down some turkey ham, since pork isn't really my thing, followed by cherry tomatoes, gruyere and eggs. The recipe I was loosely following called for thyme but I chose to use dill instead. Of course after it was in the oven for a bit I thought of several others things I could have added to make it more delicious, maybe next time.

The Big Picture

So my classes started this past Thursday and after a long battle with procrastination I've finally just started working on my week's assignments. Good thing it's an abnormally long week, almost like they know none of us are going to get right to it. My course load is a little overwhelming even right out of the gate. A nine image assignment first week, really? And that's just one of my classes. Not looking forward to math and I'll leave it at that for now. Never a fan of having to do discussions and my responses are thick with sarcasm this week. Fashion/beauty is looking to be my biggest problem but I'll probably learn the most in it. I have spent the better part of the night perusing the vastness that is the world wide web looking for a Ralph Lauren ad I saw when I was in junior high to use for reference, so far no luck.
